At first, Lil Wayne was just a preteen delivering hardcore rap, with content that was authentic, brutal, and unlike what any other rapper had the guts to say at the time. Raised in the New Orleans neighborhood of Hollygrove, Lil' Wayne used his experiences of growing up without a father and being surrounded by gun violence as material to propel his career forward at a very young age. Lil Wayne found the most success in recording Tha Carter, which has spurred three consequent records each containing their fair share of hit singles, including "A Milli", "Lollipop", and "6 Foot 7 Foot". Though fans are still waiting for Tha Carter V, Lil Wayne is continuing to tour with up and coming rappers. Two years ago, we saw an epic rap battle style tour between Weezy and Drake, and now, he's on tour with up and comers Rae Sremmurd.
