The Los Angeles Clippers franchise entered the NBA as the Buffalo Braves, an expansion team that began play in the 1970-71 season. Led by future Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo, the Braves advanced to three straight Eastern Conference semifinals in the 1970s.
Despite their early success, the franchise was moved to San Diego in 1978 amid arena issues, and the team was renamed the Clippers. The franchise relocated to Los Angeles in 1984 and in the early 1990s, they made their first playoff appearances since moving to LA, led by Ron Harper, Danny Manning, Charles Smith, and Loy Vaught.
The arrivals of Blake Griffin (2009) and Chris Paul (2011), turned the “Lob City” Clippers into a perennial playoff team and it was one of the most successful eras in the franchise's history.
The Clippers are moving into the new Intuit Dome for the 2024-25 season and beyond, and it will be one of the most incredible arenas in the NBA for years to come. Buy Los Angeles Clippers tickets on TickPick this season for the guaranteed best prices and no hidden fees.
